My name is Cathy Garvin-Honold and I am writing you in regards to a benefit that my son, Tony, will host in November to benefit
Dr. Greg Brandt and the Children’s Oncology Group. Tony was diagnosed three years ago with Acute Lymphomblastic Leukemia (ALL), which is the most common form of childhood cancer. With the help of Dr. Brandt and the SIU staff, Tony's cancer was gone
in 14 days! I chose for Tony to participate in a clinical study/trial that Dr. Brandt conducts through the Children's Oncology Group (COG). This is a wonderful organization, which has locations all across the US and in several places overseas. This organization allows the research information to be shared and patients to be accrued for studies faster because of the number of locations.
Simply put, if patients are accrued faster, we have results faster and hopefully get cures faster!
We are asking for donations to help fund the benefit, or items to be auctioned off during the benefit. The Knights of Columbus Hall #4179 in Chatham, IL has donated their hall for the night of Saturday November 13, 2004. We are hoping for a large turnout.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the study/clinical trial that Dr. Brandt has through the Children's Oncology Group (COG).
Anyone interesting in making a donation or volunteering their time for this benefit.
