The Advanced diagnostics software is a powerful diagnostic and trouble-shooting tool available for the Toshiba cable modem ( all cable modems ). The Advanced Diagnostics is a user-friendly GUI (graphic user interface) program.
It implemented using Java technology making it portable and platform independent. Diagnostics provided by this software enable the administrator, headend technician or field technician to perform more extensive trouble shooting than that provided in the Installation Wizard. The Advanced Diagnostics can be invoked either from a computer at the subscriber’s site or from the Headend. The diagnostic program can display a variety of information panels that provide the status of the cable modem, the CMTS, the communication channels, etc.
This program uses SNMP (Simple Networking Modem Protocol) to retrieve the modems current settings. If your ISP's has disabled your modems SNMP interface, this program will Time Out.
BOOTP packet request program that will tell you everything you need to know, without all these extra steps. It will display the Image Filename, TFTP server address, which is really all you need to get started.

DocsDiag is a program for reading diagnostic data from DOCSIS cable modems. It should work with any DOCSIS-compliant cable modem that has SNMP access available to the end-user. It will be of primary benefit to end-users with cable modems that do not offer diagnostics via web pages.
DocsDiag is a text-mode console program without any graphical user interface. It will run on any platform that supports Java console applications.
