Should you give advice at the craps table

The question asked in the title I already know the answer to. But like most things in life the answer can vary depending on who you talk to. Most people would say it is bad etiquette to give advice at a craps table. I’m guilty of breaking this rule a time or two. The one time that comes to mind is rather funny actually. I was having a not so good night at the table. But still felt the need to give the person to my left a bit of advice. The funny thing is he felt the need to give me a bit of my own medicine back. His comment was something along the lines of it’s worked so well for you tonight. My comment was actually most nights it does.

What is in your drink

I’m not the only one who has talked about this in the past of course. But after glancing at an article today I thought I would write down some quick thoughts on the subject again. My mind keeps coming back to how do you know if what you’re drinking is truly natural? Granted with many products you know that most of the ingredients are manmade in some way. But many companies even those that haven’t had healthy drinks for you in the past have jumped on the natural or organic craze. However the question remains how do you know which company is being honest with their ingredient list?

Just placed an order for more Phix energy drink

I’m down to my last five pack of Phix already. So even with the two extra packs that got sent to me I went through my supply pretty fast. Less than fifteen days if my calculations are correct. On the positive side of things. This means I’m drinking more water and less tea or soda. I hadn’t really been drinking many of the more traditional drinks on the market for some time anyway. It’s been my goal to reduce the amount of garbage going into my system. Not that I’ve come close to fully meeting that goal.

How many times can the State Journal Register get a last name wrong

Granted everything looks correct within the online version of a recent article the State Journal Register did. But I still have to ask. How many times can the State Journal Register get a last name wrong? When reading the July 12, 2008 SJR article on this years Camp COCO I came across the last name blunder. Now keep in mind I’m more than aware of my share of typos and the destruction of proper English literature. So I’m not throwing stones in a glass house. But how many professional editors does it take to get it right?

Live Storm coverage of current Chatham IL weather

Right now thunder, lightning and heavy rain are taking place in the Chatham, IL area. I will cover this live using my webcam as long as the power stays on. The live feed will also go offline if we head out this evening. But until one of those two things occurs I’ll keep the storm action up and running. For the record I could have sworn when I read the forecast information WeatherBug sent my cell phone today. That the message stated this hardcore weather wasn’t coming until Saturday. Which is tomorrow. Sometimes I will receive a revised forecast. I’ve not seen that message hit my cell phone inbox yet.

Comcast cable broadband down in Central Illinois this morning

This morning between midnight and one AM I lost my Comcast broadband connection. I didn’t bother to go check the cable television until a bit later. Only the DVR recordings were working when I checked that. Just a bit ago everything started working again. I received no advanced notice of work being done. There is also nothing mentioned within a popular online forum related to Comcast service. At this time my cable and high speed internet service are back up and running. Not sure if the downtime might have been related to implementing a fix for the major DNS security issue that everyone has been talking about.

Storms are gearing up at the moment

In Central Illinois at the moment a good amount of rain is coming down. The thunder is booming as well.  Heavy rain has actually relaxed a bit. A few moments ago it was coming down so hard that our gutter system couldn’t keep up. To bad this house has no type of water collection system. All that good water is going to waste and directly to a storm drain.  Which of course contributes to the flooding problem that many people aren’t concerned about.

Real life Danny Deckchair completes journey

This afternoon I read a story in the newspaper that talked about life imitating art. I wasn’t aware that someone had actually done this before as well. Oregon gas station owner Kent Couch ( almost seems like a made up name for this story ) completed a real life Danny Deckchair adventure. The journey started in Bend, Oregon and ended in Cambridge, Idaho. According to the article this is a distance of over 200 miles. So what is a Danny Deckchair?
